Expert in Fraud Prevention and Financial Crime
Sylvain Paquette is a widely respected expert in the field of fraud prevention and financial crime. With nearly two decades of experience and frequent appearances in major media outlets, he brings his expertise to the development of advanced technological solutions, including artificial intelligence for document fraud detection.
Since 2017, he has served as Vice President of the Quebec chapter of the Credit Institute of Canada, where he plays a central role in mobilizing industry stakeholders—most notably through the organization of the annual Fraud Colloquium in Montreal.
His career reflects a combination of field experience, analytical rigor, and recognized leadership.
William Navarro
Vice-President, Europe
Expert in Document Fraud and Border Security
William Navarro is a seasoned expert in document security, with over 20 years of experience in special forces and border police. He has led field operations, trained agents, and collaborated with international agencies such as Frontex, playing an active role in the fight against identity-related fraud.
Specializing in document fraud and the analysis of fraudulent behaviors, he now serves as Vice President for Europe, contributing to the development of artificial intelligence solutions for automated document fraud detection. He plays a key role in defining authenticity criteria that guide detection mechanisms.
His career combines operational experience, technical expertise, and strategic vision, serving the integrity of identity verification systems and the protection of international borders.
Hamid Guenaoui
Vice-President, Canada
Expert in Cybersecurity and Network Infrastructure
Hamid Guenaoui brings over 25 years of experience in information technology, with deep expertise in cybersecurity and advanced networking. He holds a degree in electronic engineering and a master’s in information systems management, and is certified by both Cisco and Microsoft. He is also a recognized Cisco instructor trainer.
As Vice President for Canada at Verisafe, he oversees the stability of infrastructure, the security of data flows, and the reliability of the technological tools used in document fraud detection systems.
His career is defined by a rare combination of strategic vision, technical mastery, and the ability to translate complexity, all of which he puts to work in support of performance and innovation.
Mohammed Esmaeilpour
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Expert in Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering for Fraud Detection
Mohammad Esmaeilpour is an expert in artificial intelligence and advanced software development. He holds a Ph.D. in AI from ÉTS (Montreal), along with a bachelor’s degree in software engineering and a master’s in machine learning. His outstanding academic path is complemented by a postdoctoral industrial fellowship at Desjardins, where he contributed to the design of fraud detection systems and privacy-preserving technologies.
As Chief Technology Officer at Verisafe, he leads work on software architecture, AI model optimization, and the integration of emerging technologies into document verification processes.
Author of more than 15 peer-reviewed publications in leading conferences and journals, he is recognized for his expertise in generative models, particularly transformer neural networks.
